ARTIST STATEMENT

Aidan Mack faces conflicts everyday through prejudices, stereotypes, discrimination, and ignorance but then she has advantage in encountering daily conflict where she brings them to her movies. Everyday she sees life through the lenses, which is like a pair of eyes to the world. She receives and expresses the language she communicates in everyday based on visual information. She sees the texts and converts them into images in her brain. Everything revolving around her is based on the visual. This says lot about her wise choice to become a professional filmmaker, and she knows that she brings energy, creativity, and professionalism to every production.

In directing, Aidan Mack reads a script and places herself inside the screenwriter’s vision. After she completes feeling out the whole concept of the script, she breaks the script apart into fragments, the scenes. She sits down alone and visualizes each scene and the characters. She analyzes and questions characters’ strengths, and weaknesses, flaws, and issues with inward and outward. Frantically or slowly, she draws the storyboard and outlines the shoot list. She meets with her cinematographer, and production designer, and shares her vision with them. The cinematographer, and production designer input their feedback. Aidan studies actors’ headshot and watches the video of auditions carefully. She guides the actors as she directs. She allows creativity to flow in the productions, added by any crewmember. She delegates each crew members and actor and they feel free being able to add their creative work to the production, Aidan, as the creator of the films, has always enjoyed the collaboration of many talented people on the productions.

Directing the picture, Aidan Mack enjoys being a cinematographer, painting all the visual parts into the image and bringing them together to make a story in each frame. Her strong sense of design brings life into ever frame she shoots. She sees all different angles, dimension, and levels of perspective, colors, placements, and then she brings them into the composition. She plays with them until they become a well-blended, artistically meaningful shot that will continue to draw the audience toward it, and hold its attention. Aidan continues to examine the means of expression using the motion camera to create contextually rich and powerfully, symbolic works of cinema. She intends to continue the development and the utilization of technical advances to broaden the aesthetics of the visual medium.
